Durabella Palladiana Terrazzo is a perfect way to recycle broken marble into a new design floor. This regenerative flooring system uses reclaimed marble elements from existing buildings, processed into Durabella Biopolymer Terrazzo. The beautiful colors of marble can be combined into a unique custom design, or kept tone-on-tone in a single color scheme.

The beauty and richness of traditional terrazzo, originally invented by the Romans, is combined in this system with today’s latest technologies – resulting in a unique and durable flooring solution.

Sustainability

Duracryl produces flooring based on natural and renewable materials. This has a significant advantage regarding climate change compared to fossil-based products.

For the accountability of the carbon footprint impact of each flooring product, we use the definition from the “Healthy Materials Lab at Parsons School of Design” in New York, a leading authority in this field.

“Currently, there is no universal threshold for ‘low embodied carbon’ in flooring materials. After discussing this research with experts, we have established a rigorous standard that can meet 2030 emission goals. These products, labeled ‘LEC’, embody less than 5kg of CO2 per square meter.”

All Duracryl products meet this standard and are called “Climate Positive Flooring.”.

Composition

Durabella is made from various components based on a specially modified binder, marble aggregates, and/or natural stones. Durabella Biopolymer is made from vegetable oil and is Red List Free. Durabella is a flexible terrazzo and offers 40% better sound absorption compared to traditional epoxy terrazzo.

Application

Marmodur is a thinset semi-resilient floor finish that is seamlessly applied over large areas without joints. Marmodur is hard-wearing and highly resistant to heavy traffic areas like shops, restaurants, and public spaces.

Appearance

Marmodur is a robust and strong floor finish that resembles a composite terrazzo look. The density of the aggregates may vary since it is randomly applied. The Special Riviera collection is available.

Thickness

The Marmodur has an overall thickness of 3 to 4mm.

Design

Installation

The concrete or screed subfloor must be primed and leveled with a self-leveling smoothing compound to achieve a flat and even surface. Uneven surfaces must be leveled by, for example, diamond grinding before applying the leveling compound. All dust and loose particles must be completely removed from all surfaces before the product is applied, preferably using a brush and/or an industrial vacuum cleaner. A suitable primer must be applied before installing Marmodur. During installation, the room temperature must be at least 62°F (15.5°C). The floor temperature must be at least 59°F (15°C) and a minimum of 3°F (3°C) above the dew point.
